For 17 years, Beatgate, the city’s most talked about events, will host Berlin-based
pianist, composer and producer Nils Frahm at Zorlu PSM Turkcell Stage on the night
of 16 June at the first leg of its new event concept #KeepItAlive series, where it will
host the most anticipated live performance artists of the world stage.
Nils Frahm, who is regarded as one of the most talented composers of the last
century, has received full marks from music critics and listeners and has a worldwide
fan base with his unusual sound that he has created by taking a centuries-old
instrument as the centre force; with transitions between experimental, neo-classical,
ambient and electronica universes.
Expanding his field of art with his unique sound, Frahm won the prestigious ‘German
Film Award’ for ‘Best Film Music’ for his soundtrack ‘Music For The Motion Picture
Victoria’ for Sebastian Schipper’s feature film. In addition, he co-wrote the soundtrack
for the film ‘Ellis’, starring Robert De Niro, with the French musician Woodkid.

ARTIST
Nils Frahm is a German musician, composer, and record producer based in Berlin. He is known for combining classical and electronic music and for an unconventional approach to the piano in which he mixes a grand piano, upright piano, Roland Juno-60, Rhodes piano, drum machines, and Moog Taurus.
In addition to his solo work, Frahm has released collaborations with such notable performers as Ólafur Arnalds, F. S. Blumm, Anne Müller and Woodkid. With Frederic Gmeiner and Sebastian Singwald he records and performs as Nonkeen.
