Marcel Knopf
He tried this Digital-DJ-Turn-Stuff. But rocking rarities should be played best from vinyl and without a screen that helps mixing when you are wasted once again. His vinyl rack brims over with special records between Matthew Hertbert, dub, house and every groove from techno wonderland. Not only is this credible but also worth listening to. Lounging impossible! Oh yeah and another thing: marcel is expecting his first baby in autumn: name: dusty dance, weight: 15g, seize: 12cm, sex: house.

Eelke Kleijn // Global Underground (NL)
by admin on Kas.05, 2009, under ARTIST

Eelke Kleijn
Spring 2007 saw Eelke taking the next leap towards fulfilling his dreams. Months of labour finally paid off when his debut artist album ‘Naturally Artificial’ was snapped up by Global Underground. It did not take the guys at GU long to see its potential. “Needless to say I am extremely happy about it!”, he adds. “Global Underground is one of the labels that have been around since the beginning, you don’t get a chance like this every day”.
It is difficult to describe Eelke’s sound in a few words though. “I am easily bored with music, I don’t like recycling sounds and ideas all the time”, he explains. “As with my DJ sets, I need variety in order to remain interested in what I’m doing. Producing different styles is almost like a way to express the different moods I’m in”. The signing of ‘”Walkabout” on Ork Recordings with Nick Hogendoorn is a perfect example, receiving critical acclaim from artists as diverse as Fish Go Deep, Nic Fanciulli and Anthony Pappa. Outside the Box Music, Eelke’s label launched in 2006, reflects his taste in music like nothing else. Many releases are not easy to pigeonhole into a certain style but instead cross the conventional borders between them. Eelke’s ambitions don’t stop at dance music however. His production work for Nike shows a very different side of his music, balancing on the fine line between hip hop and electronica. In 2009 Eelke wrote music for their “V is for Victory” and “Create_Space” campaigns.

NIALA’KIL – SPIRITUAL BEAT
jonas & cleonce rmx – zp013

Spiritual Beat
The young french producers Niala’kil, Jonas and Cleonce delivers three dancefloor gems. Although they has been more well-known for club-storming minimal techno in the recent past, Niala goes deeper and groovier on “spiritual beat” ep. you get three deep and irresistible tech-house tunes, plus one mind-numbing techno thriller.
it’s good. real good!
Feedback.
Laurent Garnier: “Will play this a lot”
Loco Dice: “Both remixes really work for me”

Pelacha
Pelacha is one of the most relevant DJs of the Spanish techno scene. She started behind the turntables in 1992 in one of the most significant clubs in those days, Barfly. Later she was also resident DJ at Epsilon, Consulado and Omensound, alternating these sessions with her first gigs outside Madrid in north Spain.
In 1998 she creates Interstate collective, with which she produces several festivals in the Capital, and also collaborates in Art Futura and Festimad festivals. During 1999 she was resident DJ at Davai club, and in another after session at Arena, where she used to perform tech-house sets. From that year until today, next to being a resident DJ, she has also been one of the creators of One, club which has in its six years become one of the main references of the techno music in Spain, and with which she has recorded the CD-mix One a different club (Aire Music), which achieved a great success.
Next to it, during the years 2002-2003, she has been resident DJ at Surface

Nick Curly
As one of the main protagonists behind the so-called Mannheim sound, Nick has exploded on to the scene in 2008 with a string of releases on Cecille, 8Bit, murmur and Supernature – with the recently released ‘Dubnoise’ EP and ‘Television’, in particular, proving absolutely huge with DJ’s around the world.
Not content with simply making great music, as the owner of the Cecille and 8Bit labels, Nick has developed a talent as a taste-maker and overseen an amazing year for his labels as releases from the likes of Johnny D, SiS, Markus Fix, Robert Dietz, Lemos and Kreon have propelled many of these artists on to the global stage.
His work on his own labels as caught the eye of many and as a result the next months hold in store output on Liebe*Detail, Get Physical, Mobilee and murmur. In the biggest news of all, his debut album on, naturally, Cecille Records is due to hit in spring 2009.

Badme // Redukt (TR)
by admin on Eki.22, 2009, under ARTIST

Badme
Badme, led by her passion for electronic dance music, which began with Josh Wink’s “Don’t Laugh” and Radio 2019, which has a quite impact on the birth of the electronic music scene in Turkey. It is the Switch Club in Istanbul, who gave her the urge to dig more about electronic dance music and after the sad confinement of the club, something unexpected -“Something just pushed my button and like I was all programmed for it.”- occured for her and she started DJing and she has appeared in various clubs and festivals from that time, which is 2003.
Badme started the formation called Redukt in 2009, and while working with talented producers and DJs from all over the world under the roof of Redukt together with her partner in crime; Clone Kent, she carries out the label works and determining Redukt’s inclinations as an international formation.
Also the inheritance of Fino Attack, turned into Redukt’s radio show under the name “Reduktiv Radio Show” at Dinamo FM has grown a reputation for the past 4 years and on air every saturday night at 22:00 (GMT). Badme plays once in a month and she welcomes her guests along with other Redukt artists on the show and spread the sound.

This dance floor oriented approach to set structure and programming, combined with deft skills, has seen Matt hold residencies at Sounds on Sunday, Habit, Robotique and Sydney’s premier progressive night SweetChilli. by admin on Eki.21, 2009, under ARTIST

Derek Howell
He strove to create something fueled by his musical roots, but driven by the future. To this day he has sought to invent a place where the products of others’ musical heydays and his visions of the future of music can come together and groove. At the start of his career he released records on such labels as Fade Records, Bedrock Records and 3 Beat Breaks. He has since had releases on Matthew Dekay’s DK Records, Randall Jones’s Mynt Music imprint, Proton Music and the ever present Global Underground. In addition, he has been featured on quite a few well known compilations including the infamous Nick Warren’s GU 028: Shanghai, Desyn Masiello’s Balance 08, GU’s Electric Calm v2 downtempo compilation as well as their Digitized 2 compilation and two of Hernan Cattaneo’s Renaissance compilations.
Derek’s collaboration work with fellow producers Peter Martin and Joshua Michael has birthed the Pinkbox Special/Alley Qats and Lonestar projects respectively, under which releases on Armada Music, Maris Music, Proton Music and Fade Records have ensued. These things being all in the past but certainly never forgotten, Derek’s goal for tomorrow and the years to come is to create dance and electronic music, not simply dance tracks. He strives to push himself in different directions and to never be content with settling on any one style, genre or subgenre of the music he chooses to create. Music has always remained a very important part of his life, and that trend shall continue. Hopefully, with a lot of hard work, and a boat load of faith, his music will become an important part of so many others’ lives as well.

In 1998 a Ninja-tune event opened his consciousness to overseas sounds.Year 2000 and his friends introduced him to Rave for the first time, From there on he started beating electronic drums, shifting sideways to dance music, phat beats and the polyrhythms of african drums. Sydney 2005, Gentetz and LRS (obscure.co.nz) met and formed the minimal techno unit Jackboot. Since then Gentetz has been making experimental techno. Gentetz creates his audio by starting with a sketch of his imagined sound-scape using clay and color pencils – recognizing the frequencies and rhythms as a spatial solid.
